Now For Something Different...

Calling all writers…

Stormgate Press introduces Spurs & Six Shooters. A wild West Anthology set in the pioneer days of the Old West. Many of you grew up watching old westerns on TV, or reading Louis L’Amour, Zane Gray or William W. Johnson (just to name a few), and we are emulating those types of stories.

For those interested stories for Spurs & Six Shooters should be set between the years 1866 and 1900. They should be between 7,500 and 10,000 words. In your stories the hero always wins. Your hero can be a man or woman of any nationality as long as they are in a wild west setting.

The stories should be fast paced, placing your protagonist against incalculable odds, facing villains equal to them – the best villains are antagonists who believes they are in the right. Stories should be straight forward western tales, no supernatural or science fiction elements should be included in your stories.

Deadline for stories is May 1st 2023, for a summer 2023 release. Send your pitches to stormgatepress@gmail.com

Space will be limited to 7 to 9 authors so send your pitch soon to ensure your spot in the anthology.

Writers will be compensated 3 copies of the anthology and the opportunity to purchase extra copies at printing cost.

Con Season in Full Swing

This past weekend I had the pleasure of attending the Huntington Comic & Toy Con. In Huntington WV. In a way it's like going home since I married a West Virginia girl, and I have extended family there. The guest attending the convention were in abundance, and many found their way to my table. I was honored to have so many returning patrons, picking up the second or even third books in a series. Plus the new faces discovering my work for the first time. It was an honor.

I would also like to thank Charles Davenport, the creator, artist and writer of Stormgate's first & only comic book, The Family Orbitz, for attending the show with me this year, and I think he might make this convention a regular event for him.

My next convention, with be in Westlake Ohio, just outside Cleveland at the PULP FICTION CONVENTION Hosted by Jeff Harper. It's Sunday June 12 from 10 - 4. at 1100 Crocker Rd. You can find all my appearances here.
